Privacy Policy
Last updated January 12, 2026
Documatch, Inc. ("Documatch," "we," "us") provides an AI-assisted document editing platform for professional users. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have.
Information we collect
- Account data — name, email, organization, and authentication identifiers provided through our identity provider (Clerk).
- Documents & content — files you upload, editor state, version history, and AI edit proposals associated with your workspace.
- Usage data — feature usage, token consumption, error logs, and device/browser metadata needed to operate and secure the service.
- Payment data — billing details processed by Stripe; we do not store full card numbers on our servers.
- Communications — messages you send through our contact form or support channels.
How we use information
We use your information to provide, maintain, and improve Documatch; process AI edit requests you initiate; enforce quotas and billing; respond to support inquiries; detect abuse; and comply with legal obligations.
We do not use your documents or prompts to train third-party foundation models.
When you request an AI edit, relevant document content may be sent to model providers (e.g., DeepSeek) solely to fulfill that request under our data processing terms.
Sharing
We share data with subprocessors that help us run Documatch — hosting, authentication, payments, AI inference, and email — under contracts that require appropriate safeguards. We may disclose information if required by law or to protect rights, safety, and security. We do not sell personal information.
Retention & security
Documents and account data are retained while your account is active and as needed for backup, legal, and billing purposes. We encrypt data in transit and at rest and scope database access by account. No method of transmission over the Internet is 100% secure.
Your rights
Depending on your location, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or export your data, and to object to or restrict certain processing. Contact contactdocumatch@gmail.com to exercise these rights. EU/UK users may lodge a complaint with their supervisory authority.
International transfers
We may process data in the United States and other countries where our subprocessors operate. We use appropriate safeguards for cross-border transfers where required.
Children
Documatch is not directed to children under 16. We do not knowingly collect data from children.
Changes
We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be posted on this page with an updated date.
